Abstract
PURPOSE:To slow cool hot rolled wire material and let softening anneal be done at low cost by cooling the coil of the hot rolled wire material with a refrigerant such as air while letting the same move on a conveyor and circulating the heated refrigerant and using as a refrigerant. CONSTITUTION:The coil 3 of hot rolled wire material is placed on a flat conveyor 2 and is conveyed. When it is detected by a coil detector 10 that the coil 3 comes right under an elevating duct bellows 13, an air cylinder 12 actuates to extend the bellows 13 downward, causing an elevating duct 11 to touch the top surface of the coil 3 and stop. Next, a fan 6 is run to put high-temperature refrigerant from the elevating duct 11 to the coil 3 to slow cool the coil 3. It is then passed through a duct 5, fan 6, duct 7, pillow pipe 8 and branch duct 9 and is reused as the refrigerant for slow cooling of the coil 3 by the elevating duct 11. Since the refrigerant is heated by making use of the heat retained by the coil 3, there is no need for separately providing any heater and the softening anneal of the wire material coil may be accomplished at low cost.
