Abstract

PURPOSE: To heat the die so as to have a desired temperature distribution within a short time by heating the die for Al profile extrusion with low-frequency current prior to be used for profile extrusion then letting the same contact a heating medium.
CONSTITUTION: Unheated die 1 is moved to the home position on a die arranging table 2 by a hoist 7 which moves along a beam 11 and the die in a die holding furnace 5 is set to an extruder. An automatic hand 6 takes out the die 1 automatically and places on a slide type inserter 3. After the die 1 has been heated at the intermediate of low-frequency heating members 4a, 4b the inserter 3 is moved and the automatic hand 6 takes out the die 1 from the inserter 3 and puts the same into the die holdingfurnace 5. In the holding furnace 5, the die 1 is put in contact with heating medium and is thereby soaked. As a result of this, the heating time of the entire part may be shortened and the temperature distribution of the die may be made in a desired range, whereby energy saving and higher quality of the extruded profile may be accomplished.
