Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a high heat-resisting formed product without fractures in forming process by a method in which ployester sheets stretched uniaxially are put in piles such that the orientation directions of the sheets are crossed one another, and said piled sheet is formed under differential pressure at a special temperature, and then is cooled after heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:Polyester resin is extruded at melted state into a sheet form from T die and is stretched uniaxially at the temperature higher than Tg by 10-50 deg.C, thereby obtaining uniaxially stretched polyester sheet with 0.03-0.10 double refraction coefficient. A plurality of said sheets are put in piles such as the orientation directions of the sheets are crossed one another and formed into a piled sheet, and further, after said piled sheet has been formed under differential pressure at the temperature higher than Tg by 10-50 deg.C, it is heat treated at the temperature below Tc of said polyester resin and above (Tc-70) deg.C, and is cooled below the temperature higher than Tg by 70 deg.C and then it is taken out from the forming die, thereby producing the formed product such as a heat-resisting container by which retort sterilization and high temperature packaging may be achived.
