Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled container advantageously on an industrial basis without requiring two steps of forming and perforation, by a method wherein a synthetic resin sheet provided with a plurality of minute throug-holes is softened by heating with a stretchable thin sheet on the surface thereof, followed by vacuum and/or pressure forming.
CONSTITUTION: The sheet of a thermoplastic resin such as PVC, PE, PP or the like is provided with the minute through-holes by using a roll fitted with needles, by a high- voltage electric discharge method or by other method. With the stretchable thin sheet provided on one or both sides of the resin sheet, the resin sheet is softened by heating and then it is subjected to the vacuum and/or pressure forming. The stretchable thin sheet is preferably such one as to be softened at the softening temperature of the resin sheet and be easily released after forming. Thus, a silion film is preferably used as the stretchable thin sheet. Accordingly, unlike conventional methods, there is no need to combine the two steps, namely, a step of forming and a step of perforating a formed article, and the size of the minute holes formed in the walls of the formed article can be easily changed. The perforated container thus obtained is suitably used for maintaining the freshness of contents such as fresh food and the like.
