Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of component parts of a rotary compressor and to thereby lower the manufacturing costs of the same, by providing a rotor formed with discharge passages and a side block also formed with a plurality of discharge ports. CONSTITUTION:Discharge ports 34, 35 are formed symmetrically in a rear side block 33 at the portions thereof facing a rotor 33. When a discharge pocket 32 formed in the rotor 30 is located at a position 32-1 with respect to the discharge port 35, the pocket 32 is closed by the block 33 and a cylinder chamber is under the compression process. On the other hand, when the pocket 32 comes to a position 32-2 along with rotation of the rotor 30, the port 35 begins to communicate with the pocket 32, whereupon high-pressure gas beings to be discharged from the port 35. When the rotor 30 is further turned and the pocket 32 comes out of the port 35, communication between the port 35 and pocket 32 is interrupted and the discharge process of the compressor is terminated.
