Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a directly combustible liq. fuel by introducing a wood pyrolysis product into a passage with a temp. gradient and roughly separating a wood vinegar soln., water, etc. in a condensation process.
CONSTITUTION: Wood 8 fed in reactor 7 is pyrolyzed by heating to a high temp. with fluid heat medium 9 and the pyrolysis product is introduced into withdrawing passage 20 extending above the reactor 7. The passage 20 is equipped with heater 10 and cooler 12, 13, through which hot water and cold water are respectively passed, providing a temp. gradient of 5W250°C through the passage 20. Said pyrolysis product is gradually condensed and a high-calorie liquid fuel, wood vinegar soln. water, etc. condensed from said product are recovered in receiver 1W6 placed at each position in the passage 20 with said temp. gradient, and gas 16 contg. unliquefied CO, methane, ethane, propane, etc. is discharged out of the system and used as a fuel.
