PURPOSE:To easily decide whether a terminal press-contacting state is normal or not, by applying high voltage between a terminal press-contacting part and a testing electrode, and comparing start voltage of arc discharge with a set value. CONSTITUTION:In order to check whether a mutual press-contacting position of a terminal 1 and an electric wire 2 is normal or not, and also whether gripping state of a grip part 1a is normal or not, the inspection is executed optically by a projecting system A and a photodetecting system B. After that, a terminal press- contacting state is checked as to whether an electric conductor 2b is exactly gripped by a grip part 1b or not, or whether some conductors 2c have escaped. In order to execute said inspection, an electrode 13 and a terminal press-contacting part are connected to the minus side and the plus side, respectively, by a circuit 14. In case some conductors 2c have escaped from the grip part 1b, since a distance between the electrode 13 and the conductors 2c is short, a potential across a resistance 14f starts discharge by a smaller value than a set value, therefore, a discriminating circuit 15 outputs a signal, and an alarm is raised by a means 16.
