Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform tempering, hardening and annealing with one unit of a furnace by providing a high temp. heater and a low temp. heater to a heat treating furnace and heating materials with either one.
CONSTITUTION: In order to perform tempering which is a low temp. heat treatment, first the materials in a heating chamber 7 is heated with a burner 8. On the other hand, a burner 10 is held stopped, and with dampers 13, 17 held open, a circulation fan 11 is operated to blow the circulation gas heated to prescribed temp. by controlling the rate of combustion with the combustion of the burner 18 uniformly to the materials through a flow regulating device 14. Thereby, the materials are heated to prescribed temp. and the prescribed degree of soaking is obtd. In the case of performing annealing and hardening which are a high temp. heat treatment, the dampers 13, 17 are closed, the burner 18 is stopped, and in turn, the burner 10 for high temp. treatment is operated to burn, so that the materials in the chamber 9 are heated to prescribed temp. Thereby, the low temp. heat treatment and the high temp. heat treatment are accomplished with one unit of the furnace.
