Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate releasing of press-contact and drawing out of a paper from the body of a fixing device when paper clogging occurs by providing a means that can release the press-contact state of both rollers of a roller fixing device arbitrarily and constituting the same in such a way that a part of said means forms a a gripping part. CONSTITUTION:An upper heat roller 2 is pivotally supported freely rotatably in both end parts of a casing 4, and is rotated and driven by means of a driving power transmission means. Both end parts of the revolving shaft 6 of a lower press roller 3 are pivotally supported to a pair of levers 7 freely rotatably, and is held energized by the spring force of a spring 8 in the direction of contacting with the roller 2 by pressure. The roller 3 is driven and rotated by the roller 2. To release the press-contact state of both rollers 2, 3 when paper clogging occurs, the user holds a gripping part 9 and turns a revolving shaft 10. The levers 7 are turned in the direction opposite from the press-contact direction by members 11, whereby the press-contact of the roller 3 with the roller 2 is released.
