Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a combustion tube for a water quality measuring apparatus which allows free falling of water particles to be tested without contact with the inner wall of a cap by symmetrical formation thereof by arranging the lower end of an test water injection tube below the lower end of a top cylinder section. CONSTITUTION:Water particles to be tested growing at the lower end 38 of a tube 30 increases the resistance in a combustion supporting gas passage developing between the water particles 23 and a tapered section 36. With a growth thereof, the water particles 23 receives a downward force to prevent a abnormal growth thereof 23. At the waiting state, for example, between one droping of water particles 23 to be tested and the subsequent dropping thereof or during the stoppage of supplying a test water, the combustion supporting gas flow cools the lower end 38, near which the generation of precipitate is reduced. Thus, arranging the lower end 38 of a test water injection tube 30 below the combustion supporting gas inlet 37 can prevent accidental closure near the tip thereof in an apparatus for measuring organic carbon and total oxygen consumption while improving the reproductivity and accuracy of analysis.
