Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure welding in one body of an electrode ear section and a strap section by using a lattice made of a lead alloy containing calcium and forming a strap under a cast-on-strap method with an alloy containing no calcium. CONSTITUTION:A lead alloy containing calcium, e.g., lead-calcium or lead-calcium-tin, is used for a lattice body of an electrode, and a strap is formed of an alloy containing no calcium or pure lead under a cast-on-strap method. For instance, flux made by melting colophonium in alcohol is coated on the ear section of the lattice body made of a lead-calcium alloy containing 0.1 percent of calcium, and the strap is formed under a cast-on-strap method by inserting the electrode ear section into a mold in which pure lead is dissolved. A lead-tin alloy can be used for the strap as well, and hydrazine bromide can be also used for the flux. Accordingly, welding in one body of the electrode ear section and the strap section can be ensured.
