CONSTITUTION:A base body 4' for the positive electrode of a lead storage battery is made of the binary alloy of lead-calcium, the ternary alloy of lead-calcium- tin or the like. Each vertical framework 2' of the base body 4' has alternate horizontal frameworks 1' on both sides of that, or else, each horizontal framework 1' has alternate vertical frameworks 2' on both sides of that. Through this means, for instance, expansive force along the width of the base body 4' only transforms the vertical framework 2' at the points where the expansive force and the frameworks 2' meet, and it is not transmitted to an outer frame 3, thus the expansion of the base body 4' being obviated.
