Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize the device, by passing magnetic flux through a magnetic sensor which can detect the variation in the magnetic flux that is relatively varied with respect to a body to be checked, and detecting the flaw by the magnetic sensor wherein the magnetic flux varies in response to the variation of the magnetic resistance due to the flux flaw of the body to be checked. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic flux generating surface faces the surface of the body 1 whose flaw is to be checked with a specified distance being provided. The magnetic sensor 4 is arranged between a magnetizing mechanism and the body to be checked 1. Said magnetic sensor 4 is always arranged in the region of the magnetic flux generated by the magnetizing mechanism. The magnetic sensor 4 detects the variation in the magnetic fluxes in response to the magnetic resistance variation due to the flaw 1' in the body to be checked 1, thereby performing flaw detection. The position of the magnetic sensor is not limited to the region between a magnetic iron core 2 and the body to be checked 1, and the relationship between the magnetizing mechanism and the magnetic sensor can be adjusted. As a result, the mechanical system of the flaw detecting device can be simplified and the device is miniaturized.
