Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the detection of displacement of the surface of the body by a simple operation, by providing a thin belt of an amorphous ferromagnetic substance disposed so that the relative distance thereof to a magnetic field generating element fixed on a film is varied by the displacement of the surface of the body. CONSTITUTION:A small magnet 6 generating a certain magnetic field is fixed on the upper part of a film 10 which is made to contact the surface 5 of the body. A strip-shaped thin belt 2 of an amorphous ferromagnetic substance disposed so that the relative distance (x) thereof to the magnet 6 is varied by the displacement of the surface of the body, and a detecting coil 3 which is an inductance element using the thin belt 2 as a core, are provided. A detecting circuit 4 detecting the self- inductance of the coil 3 by making a prescribed minute alternating current flow thereto is provided. A variation in an impressed magnetic field on the coil 3 caused by the variation in the relative distance (x) is converted into a variation in the self-inductance of the coil 3 and detected 4. Thereby a minute displacement or vibration of the surface 5 of the body in the direction of an arrow A can be measured. Besides, a region wherein the distance (x) and the self-inductance are proportional to each other can extend about 1mm on both sides of a point where x=6.5mm for instance.
