Abstract

PURPOSE:To correctly detect the position of an optical system for a long period by passing passing an alternating current to either one of a coil fixed to an optical system holding body and a coil disposed on a base substance to generate a magnetic field and detecting the displacement of an optical system from an induced electromotive force. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic field generating coil 5 fixed to the optical system holding body 15 for driving the optical system holding body 15 in a moving direction and the coil 13 for of the base substance 9 are disposed so as to mutually have a magnetic connection to the coil 5. The alternating current is passed to either one coil to generate the magnetic field and detect the displacement of the optical system from the electromotive force induced to other coil by an electromagnetic induction. The scale of the induced electromotive force is changed according to the interval of both coils, so that the quantity of the displacement of the optical displacement can be detected. Thereby, the position of the optical system can be correctly detected for the long period with a simple constitution.
