Abstract
PURPOSE: To make possible the automatic welding of many parts under simplified contents of instruction, when the hull block, etc., is to be fabricated, by employing the sensor for reading the scheduled passing point of torch, and by giving the tracing and position detecting functions to the sensor block.
CONSTITUTION: The welding torch 3 is held in the holding block 2; this holding block 2 is movable against the material 1 to be welded in all directions within the XYZ three-dimentional coordinate system, and also is rotatable around the O-axis that is parallel to the X-axis. This torch 3 is made movable in the direction of projecting the wire 4. The sensor block 5 is attatched to the torch 3 on purpose to detect the vertical distance from the individual plane before the torch 3 passes over this point. In this sensor block 5 are installed the differential-transformer detector 7U for deteting the distance from the vertical side plane in the horizontal fillet welding, and the differential transformer 7W for detecting the distance from the lower horizontal plane, and the contactless switch 8; hereby, the position in the coordinates of the welld joint part is measured, and the time lag is obtained from the moving speed of the torch 3, and the position of the arcing point is previously read out
