Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid wear of a friction current collector at a high speed travelling by performing current collection from the friction collector at the slow speed range of a vehicle while an induction current collection is performed from the rail side winding at the high speed range.
CONSTITUTION: At the low speed travelling, current collection is performed with a friction current collector 16 contacting the current feeding sheet 1. A permanent magnet 15 combined with a friction current collector 16 composes magnet poles different in the polarity from each other at the end facing a power feeding sheet 1 of a yoke 14 and generates a eddy current in the power feeding sheet 1 following the travelling of the vehicle. As the travelling speed reaches the limit of the friction current collection, the friction current collector 16 separates from the power feeding sheet due to interaction with a magnetic field based on the eddy current. At the high speed travelling, a current is produced in a strand 12 when it crosses a magnetic line of force generated by the winding 17 of the rail.
