Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of a DC motor and eliminate the noise of the motor by providing a field unit stationarily magnetized and a plurality of drive windings crossing with the field unit and driving the motor through a switching type voltage converter and a current switch.
CONSTITUTION: A motor 14 consists of a rotatable field unit 22 stationarily magnetized by a permanent magnet or the like, a stator 23 having a plurality of drive windings crossing with the field magnetic flux, and a position detecting rotor 25. Thus, the motor 14 is driven through a switching type voltage converter 12 and a current switch 13. The converter 12 is controlled by a signal from a speed detector 15. The current switch 13 switches the current passage from the converter 12 to the drive windings responsive to the relative position between the field unit of the motor 14 and the drive windings to generate the same direction continuous drive force at the motor 14. Accordingly, it can enhance the power utility rate with variable speed and drive force and reduce the power consumption of the motor.
