Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the vibration of sliders at a high speed, by compressing the sliders to feeder rails by the force of a spring at a low speed, and by strongly compressing the sliders to the feeder rails by utilizing the magnetic repellent force between the permanent magnets provided at the conductors of the feeder rails and in a current collector at high speed.
CONSTITUTION: At low-speed running, the electric power is supplied to the apparatus on a car from feeders 1 via conductors 21 and 23 and sliders 7 and 8 which are compressed by the force of a spring 20 provided in a current collector 30. At high- speed running, since the lines of magnetic force formed by permanent magnets 9 cross the faces of conductors 22 at a right angle and the direction thereof changes, eddy currents are generated in the conductors 22, and a large repellent force is generated by the interaction of the magnetic field caused by said eddy currents and the permanent magnets 9. The repellent force acts on supporting member 3 and 2 in the direction of arrows X, and the sliders 7 and 8 are strongly compressed to the conductors 23 and 21.
