Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify a structure by providing manifolds with gas intake ports and exhaust ports for a fuel electrode and an oxidation agent electrode on the sides of a cell laminate and providing intake ports and exhaust ports of a cooling medium on one side where no mainfold is fixed. CONSTITUTION:A number of gas flow paths 3 provided on one face of an electrode substrate 20 are divided into three groups by partition walls 21a, 21b, the flow paths in the center is used for gas feeding and the flow paths at both sides are used for gas exhausting. These electrode substrates 20 are treated with catalysts coping with fuel and air respectively, and matrices 5 are fixed, then they are arranged in lamination so that the flat planes face each other and the gas flow paths for fuel and air are in opposite directions. A fuel gas manifold 22 and an air manifold 23 are fixed to two opposite sides where gas feed ports 3a and gas exhaust ports 3b of this laminate are provided, and a cooling water feed pipe 18 and a cooling water exhaust pipe 19 are arranged on one side where no manifold is fixed, then they are stored in a housing tank 17.
