Abstract
PURPOSE:To present a fuel cell, with a small loss of reaction gas further with a small maximum pressure difference between the reaction gases and obtainable with uniformly high generating energy. CONSTITUTION:Fuel gas flow lines 12a and oxidizing agent gas flow lines 12b are provided respectively on electrode base plates 5a, 5b. The alphanumeral 7a is fuel gas and 7b is oxidizing agent gas, and these gases are arranged to flow in the direction of an arrow head respectively as shown in the drawing. For this purpose, partitions 11a, 11b are provided respectively in fuel gas side manifolds 8a, oxidizing agent gas side manifolds 8b. Furthermore the numeral 9 is a collective cell, and the numeral 10 are gaskets, in this way, a two-channel face-to-face flow type is formed. A taper or gradient is provided to the gas flow lines 12a, 12b themselves, and sectional area of the flow line is formed narrower toward an outlet side further with the same face-to-face gas flow type, to both widely reduce a pressure loss and increase reaction gas divided pressure, then concentration polarization is decreased, thus performance of a cell can be increased.
