Abstract
PURPOSE:To stabilize the operation of an AGC circuit by detecting the intensity of a synchronizing signal contained in a composite video signal with simple circuit constitution and by controlling the gain of a variable gain circuit on the basis of its detection voltage. CONSTITUTION:A composite video signal with the positive polarity from an input terminal 1 is clamped by a diode D1 and then supplied to the base of a transistor TRT1. This TRT1 and another TRT2 constitute a differential amplifier to hold the peak potential V2 of a synchronizing signal in a composite video signal from an output terminal 2 constant regardless of the intensity of the composite video signal from the input terminal 1. The synchronizing signal separated from the composite video signal is delayed by about 2-3musec to generate a pulse signal (a), which drives a switch circuit 3; when the circuit 3 turns on, a current I2 is flowed from a current source to a diode D2 to flow a current equal to the current I2 to the collector of a TRT3, constituting a current Miller circuit, via the TRT3, thus stabilizing the operation of an AGC circuit.
