Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the level of synchronizing signal contained in the composite picture signal with a simple construction by applying a synchronizing signal separated from composite picture signal to the base of the first transister through a pulse delay circuit.
CONSTITUTION: When a pulse delayed approximately 2 to 3 μ seconds from the synchronizing signal separated from the detected picture signal is input into the input terminal 2 which is the base of transistor T1 and when the electric potential of the term of this pulse at the emitter T1 is assumed to be V3(a), the voltage waveform (c) at output terminal 3 showing the electric potential at the peak of synchronizing signal is V5 = V3 - R1.l1 and the electric potential is kept constant regardless of the level of composite picture signal input into the input terminal 1. Therefore, when the peak value electric potential of waveform(c) is V6, the value of V6 - V5 is the level of synchronizing signal at terminal 3. The value of V6 at terminal 3 varies in propertion to the level of synchronizing signal of the composite picture signal which is input into terminal 1 and, therefore, the gain control signal of AGC circuit can be obtained by detecting the peak of V6.
