Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the scattering of filled weight of cathode and to improve the discharge characteristics by unfastening lumps of zinc powder through agitating a mixture of amalgamated zinc powder with an stirrer when the cathode is formed. CONSTITUTION:Gelatinized alkaline electrolyte, zinc powder, and metallic mercury are mixed in a prescribed proportion, the zinc powder is amalgamated by standing the mixture for a prescribed period, then the mixture is agitated to unfasten lumps of zinc powder which formed during amalgamation, and a cathode is formed. The cathode 4 is poured into the internal of an anode 1 which comprises manganese dioxide and scaly graphite through a separator 3. Thus amalgamated zinc powder is dispersed homogeneously in the gelatinized alkaline electrolyte and fluidized mobile, the scattering of poured weight during filling is reduced, the plugging of a pouring machine is prevented, and the discharge characteristics is stabilized and the work-ability can be improved.
