Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the shelf life and lead-proof characteristics of a battery by using stainless steel plate for sealing plates which serve as positive collector and negative collector, and treating the surface to be pressed on an insulator with a mixed aqueous solution of sulfuric acid and oxalic acid. CONSTITUTION:Sealing plates 1, 7 which serve as a positive collector and negative collector are formed of SUS430, and treated with an aqueous mixed solution comprising 10wt% of oxalic acid, 10wt% of sulfuric acid, and 80wt% of pure water. An insulating material 3 comprising hot metal adhesive 2, silicone rubber, and boron nitride is put on the periphery of the negative sealing plate and pressed. Then a positive electrode 5, an electrolyte 4, and a negative electrode 6 are contained, and the positive sealing plate 7 is pressed through adhesive 2' to combine. Thus the surface of sealing plates 1, 7 is satin crape finished with fine roughness, bonding strength of adhesives 2, 2' with the insulating material 3 is greatly improved, and the battery performances are improved.
