Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the stability of an output voltage at no load and a light load and to reduce the loss other than the light load, by providing a variable impedance element changed according to an output current and keeping the output current more than a prescribed value equivallently. CONSTITUTION:A voltage proportional to an AC component of a collector current of a transistor (TR)7 is induced in the secondary winding of an output transformer 6 and a current detecting transformer 5. An output current is detected at the current detecting transformer 5 and a prescribed value or more current flows by reducing an impedance of a variable impedance element 16, i.e., the impedance of a TR16 at a light load through the output of a control circuit 3 consisting of a rectifying circuit 23, a differential amplifier 24 and a reference voltage 25, allowing to reduce the variance in the output voltage. In case other than the light load, the impedance of the TR16 is increased and the current flowing to it is decreased, allowing to reduce power loss of the TR16.
