Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce unnecessary power consumption in case of a steady load, and also to supply stable electric power in case of overload, too, by controlling a base current of a switching transistor in accordance with a load current. CONSTITUTION:A load current signal detected by a microresistance 22 for detecting a load current is shifted to DC by a level shifter 23, and after that, is amplified suitably by an amplifier 24, and by this output signal, a base current controlling circuit 21 controls a base current of a switching transistor 2. For instance, in case when a current flowing to a load 11 is a little, a signal detected by the microresistance 22 and amplified by the amplifier 24 is small, and the base current of the switching transistor 2 is small. In case when a load current has been increased, a current to be supplied to the base of the switching transistor 2 is also increased by its increased portion, and it is always operated in a saturation area of the switching transistor 2.
