Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove the inclusions in molten steel by blowing an inert gas through a part of a nozzle which flows out the molten steel into a mold together with an inert gas in a vessel prior to charging of the molten steel into the mold, immersing a rotor in the molten steel and rotating the same above the nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: Molten steel 5 is introduced from a ladle 1 into a vessel such as tundish 4, and the molten steel 5 is charged into a mold through a charging nozzle 7. At this time, an inert gas is blown through a gas blowing pipe 14 provided to the nozzle 7; at the same time, a rotor 8 which is coated with refractories and is provided above the nozzle 7 is rotated by means of a shaft 13 and a gear 8 by driving a motor 11. Then, the inclusions in the molten steel 5 are moved upward with bubbles of the inert gas, and are flocculated by the agitation of the rotor 8, whereby they are made easy to float and separate.
