Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize the electromagnet by a method wherein, in an electromagnetic contactor, an electromagnetic brake, or the direct current electromagnet to be used for other various uses, a lead switch is mounted on the wiring circuit of the above, and the current to be applied before and after attraction is controlled. CONSTITUTION:The circuit, with which a current is supplied to the wiring circuit 11 constituting the direct current electromagnet, is constituted as follows; namely, a circuit wherein a resistor 12 and the contacting piece 13 of a relay 15 are connected in parallel, are inserted between a closing contact piece 14 and a wiring circuit 11. Also, a lead switch 36 located along the wiring circuit 11 is connected on the input side of the relay 15. If the electromagnet is constituted as above, the magnetic flux when the movable core of the electromagnet is attracted has a large consumption percentage at a large air gap, the magnetic flux density of the core can be reduced, the core is saturated as the air-gap becoming smaller due to the attracted movable core, and the leakage magnetic flux is rapidly increased. Thus, the lead switch 36 is turned ON to actuate the relay 15 and the contacting piece 13 is turned OFF. A resistance 12 is inserted into the coil 11 thus to decrease the current passing through the coil 11.
