Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the adhesive strength between a paper base material and a magnetic layer, by using a mateial composed mainly of a copolymer of vinyl acetate and maleic ester for an adhesive layer which is used to provide a magnetic layer on the paper base material. CONSTITUTION:A transferable magnetic sheet having an adhesive layer containing mainly vinyl acetate-maleic ester copolymer (wt. ratio of vinyl acetate to maleic ester is preferably 7/3-3/7) is pressed with heat onto a paper base material for transfer. Otherwise a transferable magnetic sheet composed of a base film, a mold releasing layer and a magnetic layer formed on the above-mentioned adhesive layer is pressed with heat onto the paper base material. Otherwise the said adhesive layer is formed on the paper base material, and the magnetic layer is formed on the adhesive layer without applying a transfer method. In such a way, a magnetic recording medium like a magnetic card, etc. is obtained.
