Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent abrasion of a thermal recording head by providing an intermediate layer containing a copolymer of styrene-methacrylic acid between a thermal color-developing layer and a supporting body. CONSTITUTION:Between the thermal color-developing layer and the supporting body is applied an intermediate-layer forming liquid prepared by mixing in thermoplastic material such as wax and a pH adjusting agent particulates being formed through polymerization of styrene and methacrylic acid in the ratio of about 1:0.1-1:1 and having molecular weight of about 10-200 thousands and particle size of 0.05mu-20mu. The adjusted intermediate-layer forming liquid is applied, preferably in 0.5-5g/m<2>, on the supporting body formed of paper or the like. The particulates of copolymer of styrene-methacrylic acid in the intermediate-layer forming liquid have the mxture ratio of 10-90wt%. The recording sheet obtained by applying the thermal color-developing layer undergoes little abrasion of the head and enables the formation of a picture whose color is developed in high density and uniformity.
