Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove materials adhering to the machining surface and the surface to be machined by forcibly sending gas, passing through the passage prepared in the electrode, into the gap between the electrode and the work. CONSTITUTION:After the work 30 is located, machining fluid is supplied to the machining surface 10 of the electrode 12 through the passage 16, and electric current is forced to flow between the electrode 12 and the work 30. After completion of machining, the discharge valve 32 is operated, and the machining liquid in the liquid tank 28 is discharged. Then, compressed air is supplied between the machining surface 10 and the surface to be machined 40 through the passage 16, to blow off machining liquid and residual sludges remaining on those surfaces 10 and 40. By this method, adhering materials can surely and quickly be removed within the shielded liquid tank.
