Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a one-side Zn plated steel plate for automobiles having plating films of superior adhesive strength and workability in vacuum vapor deposition of Zn by performing vapor deposition dividedly to a number of times while controlling a steel strip prior to vapor deposition to temps. of a specific range. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 1 goes through a treating installation 2 necessary for continuous passing through, receives treatments for surface activation and annealing in an oxidizing furnace 3 and a reducing furnace 4, and is cooled down to 200-250 deg.C in a cooling furnace 5. Thence, the steel strip goes through differential pressure chambers 6-10 wherein pressures are reduced successively with vacuum pumps P without contacting with the atmospheric air and enters the 1st stage vacuum vapor deposition chamber 11. The degree of vacuum here is about 10<-1>-10<-4> Torr., at which it receives the vapor deposition of about 1/2 of the required Zn film thickness from an evaporating crucible 12, thence it is again cooled down to 200-250 deg.C in a cooling chamber 14, and enters the 2nd stage vapor deposition chamber 16, where it receives vapor deposition up to the required film thickness. The steel strip passes through differential pressure chambers 17-21 and a post treatment installation 22,after which it is coiled on a re- coiler 23.
