Abstract

PURPOSE: To drop the soln. heat treatment temp. of an Fe-Co-Cr permanent magnet alloy and to enhance the permanent magnet characteristics and workability by adding specified amounts of Nb, Ta, Al, Ti, etc. to the alloy.
CONSTITUTION: An Fe-Co-Cr permanent magnet alloy is provided with a composition consisting of 3W10% Co, 10W40% Cr, 0.05W5% Nb+Ta, 0.05W0.5% Al, 0.05W1% Ti and the balance Fe. By adding Nb, Ta, Al and Ti, the soln. heat treatment temp. of the alloy is dropped, and the formation of σ-phase is prevented. Thus, deterioration in the permanent magnet characteristics is prevented.
