Abstract

PURPOSE: To considerably enhance the magnetic characteristics of "Alnico magnet alloy " by adding a specified amount of Nb, Zr, V, etc. to the alloy.
CONSTITUTION: To Alnico magnet alloy consisting of 15.0W28.0% Ni, 9.0W15.0% Al and the balance Fe or further contg. <13% Co, <8% Cu and <5% Ti is added 0.1W5.0% one or more among Nb, Zr and V. The expensive Co content of the resulting permanent magnet is lower than conventional Alnico magnet, or no Co is contained in this magnet. In addition, the cooling conditions after soln. heat treatment are not severe, and the magnetic characteristics such as coercive force are excellent.
