Abstract

PURPOSE:To erase a desired recording part selectively by making the track widths of the 1st and 2nd gaps, formed between a center core and the 1st and 2nd side cores, different corresponding to recording tracks on a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:At one side of a center core 9, a full-width core 10 is provided and at the other side opposed to the full-width core 10 of the center core 9, a video-signal-width core 11 is also provided. Those center core 9, full-width core 10, and video-signal-width core 11 form a gap 12 for full-width erasure with track width nearly equal to a recording part on a magentic tape and a gap 13 for video signal erasure with track width nearly equal to a video signal recording part. The full-width core 10 is provided with a full-width erasure winding 14 and the video-signal-width core 11 is provided with a winding 15 for video-signal-width erasure respectively; and those windings 14 and 15 are supplied selectively with an erasure current through a terminal 4.
