Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head which can peform good recording and reproducing to a high coercive force recording medium, too, by constituting the parts near the operating gaps of magnetic thin metallic films having saturation magnetic flux density higher than that of core bodies consisting of ferrite. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic thin metallic strips 24 having high magnetic permeability are provided respectively to magnetic core bodies consisting of high magnetic permeability ferrite, in such a manner that they intersect roughly orthogonally with a surface 41 opposing to magnetic recording media and expose on the surface 41, thereby consistituting a manetic head 39 (a symbol 51 is an operating gap constituting surface, 40 is a window for coil winding, 38, 37 are notched part reinforcing fillers, Tw is a track width). The above-mentioned magnetic head 39 is produced by providing grooves 23 to core block halves 22 for constituting this, and fitting and fixing the strips 24 respectively in these then producing the heads according to ordinary methods.
