Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure a simple and assured connection for plural submarine cables, by coupling a holder which stores the joint part of an optical fiber to a cable stretcher holding part via at least two universal joints. CONSTITUTION:The stretchers of submarine cables 1, 1a and 1b are held at a cable holding part 3; and tail cables 5, 5a and 5b led out through the center part of the part 3 are drawn out through the center hole of a spherical part which forms a universal joint 6. Then pressure resistant cylinders 7a and 7b are connected across the main body 7a of a joint holder to which optical fibers 2a, 2b and 2c are connected. The journal part of the joint 6 is connected to the journal parts of the cylinders 7a and 7b. In such constitution, plural submarine cables can be connected together in a simple and assured way.
