Abstract
PURPOSE:To execute connecting and storing work efficiently and economically by use of a supporting member with a simple structure, by distributing and placing plural pairs of optical fiber connecting parts on the surface of the supporting member, and also supporting the surplus length part along the surface of the supporting member. CONSTITUTION:Optical fibers 3a1, 3a2,..., 3b1, 3b2,... drawn out from each sheath 2A, 2B end of optical cables 1A, 1B are relatively connected by means of sleeve connection, etc. Cylindrical supporting members 71-73 consisting of split pieces 6, 6' which can be disassembled and coupled freely are placed between the sheaths 2A, 2B, and surplus length parts 4a1, 4b1...4a3, 4b3 and each connecting part 51-53 are placed along the outside circumferene of the supporting members 71-73 and are fixed with an adhesive tape, an adhesive agent, etc. In this way, the connecting and storing work is executed efficiently and economically by use of the supporting member of a simple structure.
