Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve a submarine optical cable clamp with small size, light weight and excellent electric and optical characteristics, by using a taper pin which has holes for feeding wire and optical fiber.
CONSTITUTION: A taper pin 11 made of insulator is provided at the center with a hole 12 fixing wire 1-5, hole 13 for optical fiber 1-1, and hole 14 for power supply wire 7, the wire 1-5 is inserted and fixed to the hole 12, the optical fiber 1-1 passes through the hole 13 and the power supply wire passes through the hole 14 respectively and they are drawn out to a repeater side. High tension wire 1-3 opened around the circumference of the taper pin 11 is fixed in the taper hole incorporated with the clamp block 2 and the taper pin 11 with an adhesive. A fine diameter water-proof pipe 6 in which the optical fiber is inserted, is inserted to the taper pin 11.
