Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate maintenance and attachment and detachment while minimizing the transmission loss of light, by providing a holding device, which arrays optical fiber cabled axially by applying pressure and holds them separably from a housing, adjacently to the orifice of the housing.
CONSTITUTION: A housing 2 containing a semiconductor device 16 has an orifice 4 where an optical fiber cable 6 is inserted. When the cable 6 is inserted, it is aligned axially and automatically and the conic part 10 of the cable 6 is received in the hole 8 of the conic recess part 24 of the semiconductor device 16; and the cable 6 is fixed at a constant positon by a fitting connection part 14 adjacent to the orifice 4 and the protective sleeve 12 of the cable 6 is applied with force like that of a spring, so this force fixes the cable 6 and also enables it to be separated and detached easily.
