Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve high density recording with less missing part of electromagnetic conversion part, by using a composite ferrite taking the electromagnetic conversion part as a single crystal ferrite and other parts as polycrystal ferrite. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic conversion part 2 of a magnetic head is formed with an Mn-Zn system single crystal ferrite and other parts are formed with an Mn-Zn system polycrystal ferrite 3. The polished surface of the single and polycrystal ferrites is opposed and pressed with hot pressing. Since the electromagnetic conversion part is made of the single crystal ferrite, break of the electromagnetic conversion gap is very less in comparison with that of the Mn- Zn system polycrystal ferrite to avoid any hindrance for the electromagnetic conversion characteristics. The junction of single and polycrystal is not bonded with glass, no break takes place at the bonding part, allowing to extend the life of a magnetic head.
