CONSTITUTION:A magnetic gap 2 is provided on the tape sliding surface of a sheetlike core 1 consisting of an Fe-Al-Si alloy. Strap plates 3A, 3B of high magnetic permeability ferrite which is better in abrasion resistance than the Fe-Al-Si alloy, for example, single crystal or polycrystalline ferrite plates of MnZn and NiZn or the like are bonded by means of an adhesive to both side surfaces of the core 1. Thereby, the head which is superior in abrasion resistance and practicality is obtained.
