CONSTITUTION:In a -shaped accelerating electrode unit 7, seven, for example, accelerating electrodes 81-87 are disposed through insulating sheets between the respective electrodes. Now, when ink particles are charged negatively, positive voltages are applied as shown by V1<V2<...<V7. Since in the deflecting direction, accelerating electrodes are disposed with different impressed voltages, particles of a larger magnitude of deflection and a longer flight range receive stronger accelerating electric field and take a higher speed. Thereby, when recording paper is supplied continuously, deflections of the pitch of each particle are reduced.
