Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure a flow velocity in high accuracy, by dividing a frequency component of reflected light of light irradiated on a powdered and granular body into the plural component and finding a ratio of its intensity. CONSTITUTION:Light from a luminescent apparatus 9 passes through an optical sensor 1 constituted by optical fibers and is irradiated 3 to a fluidized powdered and granular body 2 and then, is reflected and is scattered. A reflected light 4 is converted into an electric signal by a photoelectric converter 5 and is amplified by an amplifier 6. Frequency components of this scattered light signal are contained a higher frequency component in accordance with high flowing velocity. Two frequency components of the scattered light signal are taken out by a band-pass filter 7b passing through a comparatively high frequency band and a band-pass filter 7a passing through a low frequency band. A low frequency component is damped to the same level of the high frequency component by an attenuator 10 and a ratio of both frequency is found by a divider 8. The flowing velocity is known by measuring said ratio because the more the high frequency component is rich the more the flowing velocity is high.
