Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect and display the heart rate of a living body, by guiding the scattering beam from the living body of laser beam to a photoelectric detector and analyzing the output signal thereof to measure a blood state and measuring the number of times of a blood amount exceeding a preset blood amount. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam emitted from a laser beam source 4 passes through a beam transmitting fiber 2 to irradiate a living body S from the leading end of a probe 1. A part of the beam scattered by the blood flow in the living body S returns to the probe 1 to pass through a beam receiving fiber 3 and is incident to a photoelectric detector 5 to be converted to an electric signal which is, in turn, amplified by an amplifier 6 and separated into a high frequency component and a low frequency component by band-pass filters 7, 8 and the ratio of both components is calculated by an operator 9 to be displayed on a display part 12 as a blood flow speed. Further, the output signal of the band-pass filter 7 on a high frequency side enters a low-pass filter 10 to cut a high frequency component and a zero cross detector 11 detects that the signal relating to a blood flow rate passes a zero point and the blood flow rate is calculated by the operator 9. The operator 9 has a timer and can calculate the number of zero cross times per unit time and 1/2 of the calculated value is displayed on the display part 12 as a heart rate.
