Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the rate of leakage of sodium effectively irrespectively of whether it is high or low by providing a sodium vapor circulation loop line communicating with the clearance between a sodium flow piping and a heat insulating material enclosing the outside circumferential surface of said piping. CONSTITUTION:When cracking is produced in a sodium flow piping 1 owing to a certain cause, liquid or evaporated sodium leaks from the piping 1 and sodium vapor is produced in the clearance 2 between said piping and a heat insulating material 3. This sodium vapor is sucked at all times into a sodium circulating loop line 9 on account of the convection phenomenon by a temp. difference by a cooling part 12 and heating parts 10, 11 provided to a lead-out pipe 8. The socium vapor sucked into a lead-in pipe 4 is conducted via a filter 5 into a detector 7, and further the vapor measured with the detector 7 is returned to the clearance 2 between the piping 1 and the insulating material 3. Thereby, the construction is made simple, the need for taking the installation area for the same large is eliminated and sodium is detected with good sensitivity.
