CONSTITUTION: A friction material is composed of a sintered ferroalloy-based material containing several kinds of materials selected from 0.5W25wt% Si (A), 0.1W10wt% Al (B), 0.2W30wt% carbon or graphite (C), 0.2W45wt% Ni (D), not more than 10wt% Cu (E), 0.1W10wt% Cr (F), 2W60wt% oxide magnetic material ferrite (G) having a Fe2O3 content of 50wt% or higher, 2W60wt% Fe2O3 (H), 0.3W1wt% P (I), 0.01W5wt% La (J), and 1W30wt% hard particles (K) having an MoHs hardness of 4 or above such as Al2O3 or SiO2.
