Abstract

The tube 4 is put in a vertical type high-frequency heating furnace 6, the exhast pipe 5 is connected to an exhaust system, and while evacuating the tube, drawing is carried out from the lower part to form a bundle 9 of the optical fibers. This bundle 9 is introduced into synthetic resin 8 for protective coating in a container 7 having a tapered section, and it is pulled out of the container 7 through the lower small hole to form a protective coat on the bundle.
