Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance and mechanical strength by mixing a specific amount of carbon black and titanium oxide uniformly with a base material of polyolefin series plastics used for electrodes of a metal-bromine battery. CONSTITUTION:A battery jar is partitioned with a separator which is free of positive ion exchange, a positive electrode plate is placed in one section and a negative electrode plate in the other section, and an electrolyte is fed in circulation to each section to make a metal-bromine battery operational. The electrodes of this battery are made of a base material of polyolefin series plastics, and carbon black is added. 20-50 units, by weight, of carbon black and 8-12 units of titanium oxide are added and mixed uniformly with 100 units, by weight, of polyolefin series plastics used as a base material to form the electrodes.
